ACTON'S Rocky Kelly looks to put a tragedy behind him when he challenges Mark Mills of
Croydon for his old Southern Area welterweight title on his manager Harry Holland's show
at a new pro fight venue, the Crystal Palace Sports Centre, on Thursday.
It will be, of course, Rocky's first outing since his calamitous meeting in March with
Steve Watt, who died after being stopped in the 10th round at Fulham's London West
Hotel.

UNBEATEN Tee Jay, the Ghanaian campaigning out of
Clapham, became the Southern Area's first cruiserweight
champion when he stopped Gipsy (George) Carman of
Wisbech on Charles Betts' second good promotion at the
Norwich Lads' Club.

T H E old adage that a good big ' un always beats a good little
' un rang true again, as Hackney's underrated WBC
light-heavyweight champion Dennis Andries turned on the
power to halt Commonwealth middleweight title holder
Tony Sibson of Leicester in the ninth of their scheduled
12-rounder at the Alexander Pavilion.
