INVERKEITHING'S EDDIE BURKE came back from a
six months lay off to halt Irish light-heavyweight
champion TONY MONAGHAN at the end of the fifth of
a scheduled eight threes main event on Peter Keenan's
dinner boxing show at Tiffany's Ballroom.
TONY CARROLL produced the higher work-rate to
outpoint fellow Liverpudlian BRIAN SNAGG in an
excellent eight-rounds main event on the bill put
together at Neptune's Palace by matchmaker Nat Basso
for promoter Alan Kay.
I HAVE just received a letter from the oldest living British ex-heavyweight
champion, namely Phil Scott. As I mentioned recently, Phil and his wife Mary
are now living in Australia. Much as they love their own country, it was
