NEW YORK — May 21: WILFREDO GOMEZ, World Boxing Council super bantamweight champion from Puerto Rico, won his second appearance this year at Madison Square Garden by knocking out NELSON CRUZ TAMARIZ of the Dominican Republic in the second of their scheduled 10-round non-title fight.
The end came after 1 min 10 sees of the round. A left hook to the body followed by a right to the chin put Tamariz down on his back. The Dominican rolled over on his stomach and didn't stir as referee Tony Perez counted him out.
