HARRINGAY ARENA...THE GOLDEN YEARS
THERE seems some irony in the current situation that
has three former members of the US Olympic team in
1976, Leon Spinks, Sugar Ray Leonard and John Tate
now ex-world champions, and three fighters who failed
to make the team, Thomas Hearns, Aaron Pryor and
Hilmer Kenty now ruling the roost.
As for the other members of the 1976 team, Mike
Spinks still looks a fair bet to win a world title, Howard
Davis can come again, Clinton Jackson has a chance,
and Davey Armstrong could come close.
