Let's all get behind Lennox

Pro-am confusion

IT'S A sad day when you feel ashamed to be British,
but after the media response to the Lewis-Bruno
fight that is how I feel.
One fact has been made obvious: Britain loves a
loser. The commentary, the newspaper reports
were all proclaiming Bruno lost, Bruno is beaten.
Well, in my mind, that is pathetic - the whole country
should be getting behind Lennox Lewis to show
our support for a great champion.

THE other all-French European title fight on the
Dijon show also saw the loser taken to hospital as
ANGEL MONA was forced to retire after nine rounds
against champion JEAN-BAPTISTE MENDY for the
lightweight crown.

NIGEL BENN and Chris Eubank must do it
all again, after the 12-rounds draw which left
their respective WBC and WBO super-middleweight
titles intact and also left unresolved
the feud which has so intrigued
British boxing since before their first epic
encounter in 1990.
