DAMIEN DENNY celebrated his first professional
appearance in Belfast with a one-sided second round
win over Bedworth's James McGee at the Ulster
Hall.
The fight was an eliminator for the Irish light-middleweight
title held by Terry Magee - and was promoter
Owen McMahon's first attempt at reviving
small hall boxing in Ireland.

 

FORMER fighter Bernard Hart, who went into the
business world and became chief of Lonsdale Sports
Equipment, writes: "I was interested in your item on
the TV clip shown recently involving the Jake Tuli v
Vic Herman bout in 1953. Jake and his wife Peggy
