THERE was a predictable air
about Billy Schwer's first contest
as British and Commonwealth
lightweight champion,
when he stopped known bleeder
Mauricio Aceves, from Mexico,

TEARS were shed in Japan as Mexican Victor
Rabanales battered their national idol Joichiro
Tatsuyoshi to defeat in Tokyo last September.
There was a marked contrast between the two
fighters. Rabanales was an experienced former

THERE was a predictable air
about Billy Schwer's first contest
as British and Commonwealth
lightweight champion,
when he stopped known bleeder
Mauricio Aceves, from Mexico,
on a cut eye with seven
seconds left in the third
of a scheduled 10-
rounder.

A LONG rest and a
change of weight have

the world of good, judging
by his fifth-round
stoppage of Tanzanian
Bozon Haule in the
eight-round main event
at this Frank Warren promotion
at the Broadway
Theatre.

LEEDS EBA celebrate their 40th Anniversary. Left
