victory against Denmark as they drew 6-6 before a small crowd
at the Bletchley Leisure Centre.

managed to see Mark Hulstrom ahead after he had been
systematically outboxed for the entire nine minutes is a
mystery.

Ex-Boxers' Association was quite a festive occasion.
Chairman Micky O'Sullivan entered into the spirit of
things, donning his Santa Claus hat, telling a joke or two
and giving a reasonable impression of comedian
Norman Wisdom. Among the guests were one or two we
don't see often, including Mark Hart, Joe Falcon, Ron
King, Peter Cragg, Bob Longhurst and Alf Bliss, one of
the large Croydon contingent.

last month a couple of former world champions

In Gary, Indiana, at the Genisis Convention Centre
Leon Spinks had his first fight for three years as he
stopped Lupe Guerra in three rounds. "Neon" Leon is
now 38 but needs the money.
That show was on November 15, but Carlos Santos
beat Leon to it. On October 30, in San Juan, the
36-year-old former IBF light-middleweight champion
won a unanimous decision over Brinaty Maquilon.
Carlos weighed l i s t 81b. Maquilon holds a win over
Buster Drayon but has lost six of his last seven fights.
