BROCKLEY'S much-travelled Glazz Campbell threw the British light-heavyweight
division into disarray with a hard-earned half-point decision over former champion
Tony Wilson at the Midlands Sporting Club.
Campbell has taken on the role of respected opponent in good class these days —
before meeting Wilson, he went the distance with world-rated Mwehu Beya a former
IBF title challenger, in Italy.

BURTON middleweight Neville Brown avenged the only defeat on his pro record
when he outpointed Birmingham's persistent Paul Wesley over eight rounds at the
Meadowside Leisure Centre.
Wesley had whacked out the former double ABA champion in one round in their
previous meeting in July, but this time found him just a little bit too quick and
elusive.

CORNWALL EBA, formed as recently as 1989, may be
comparatively small in membership, but certainly not
lacking in enterprise. Their first Reunion was a great
success, according to Peter Fay, chairman of the Bournemouth
EBA, who made the trip to St Austell, and writes: "Ken
Wells, Doug Mitchell and I travelled by car, arriving around
5pm. The Reunion commenced at 6.30pm and was an
all-round success.
"Splendid buffet, and plenty of boxing chat with Paul King
and Bill Ellery from the Square Ring EBA, Torquay, also
Western Area secretary Jim Paull. The one disappointment
was that Guest of Honour Tony Penpraze was unable to
attend due to illness. All of us would like to wish him a
speedy recovery."
