FORMER British super-featherweight champion Hugh
Forde hopes to re-establish himself by taking the
Commonwealth title from competent champion Thunder
Ayeh of Ghana on Ron Gray's promotion at
Wolverhampton Civic Hall on Tuesday.
It's an intriguing prospect, but unlikely to be a fight to
set the blood on fire. Both are lean, long-armed boxers
who rely more on skill than power. Maybe a case of
which one establishes himself first. The respective jabs
may be the key to the whole thing.

UNCROWNED WBC super-featherweight champion Jeff
Fenech meets Miguel Francia, the Argentine and
South American featherweight champion, over ten
rounds at the International Tennis Centre in Melbourne
on September 13.
The bout is a warm up for a return with WBC

Fenech fight, is no stranger to this country.

IF THERE was a prize for the unluckiest boxer in the
country, Steve McNess would undoubtedly be a
leading contender. Twice in the last three seasons the
Newco Repton welterweight has seen his ABA title
ambitions ended by injury, while on the third occasion
(1990) he couldn't even enter.
