IF a list was compiled of the top 10 British-based
fighters since the war, Hogan "Kid" Bassey would

heavy in recent weeks, and there is still no sign of a let up in
the flow.
On Monday last, the
Commonwealth Games and
ABA heavyweight champion,
26-year-old RAF security
guard, Neville
Meade, signed with Welsh
manager Glyn Davies. But
more significant is-the fact
that Chatteris crowd
pleaser David Green, and
twice ABA lightmiddleweight
By Terry Baker
Roger Maxwell (Army)
could be campaigning for
pay by the Autumn.
THE United States boxing
team, which will be
competing in the first
World Amateur Boxing
Games in Havana, Cuba
this August, was weakened
badly when three
costly injuries and two
surprising upsets occurred
at the 1974 National
A.A.U. Boxing
Championships held in
Knoxville, Tennessee.
The most damaging of
these mishaps was the
broken knuckle suffered
by America's best heavyweight,
EMORY
CHAPMAN of Marietta,
Georgia.
