NEXT Tuesday should have been a professional show at the
Royal Albert Hall, promoted by Mike Barrett. It was to have
featured Leotis Martin (the man who stopped Thad Spencer at the
same hall recently) against Roberto Davila of Peru; Jimmy Anderson
defending his British Junior lightweight crown against Brian
Cartwright, Johnny Clark against Australian Rocky Gattellari, and
several of our younger stars. But Mike called this show off, not
because any of his boxers had pulled out, but because on that
same night BBC-1 are showing film of next Monday's Joe Frazier-
Manuel Ramos fight in New York on Sportsview.

As he limbers up during a recent workout, Manuel Ramos gives a stretch to the traditional image of Mexicans
as pint-sized pugilists. Coming from a country that usually produces featherweights, Ramos is a
heavyweight's heavyweight at 6 feet 3 inches tall and 210 pounds. At home they call him "pulgarcito,"
a Mexican equalivalent of our facetious " tiny." The 24-year-old fighter, unbeaten in three years, will
fight Joe Frazier on Monday, June 24 for Frazier's limited version of the world heavyweight championship
