SCULLY WORRY
JOHN SCULLY is concerned that
WBC light-heavyweight champion
Chad Dawson's unsuccessful
challenge to Andre Ward could have
a detrimental effect on his future.
Dawson boiled down to the supermiddleweight
limit and was beaten
comprehensively. The trainer was
in Dawson's corner for that loss to
Ward, but the pair parted company
before Saturday's June 8 bout (see
page 20) with Adonis Stevenson
was arranged.

JUAN MANUEL
MARQUEZ'S clash
with Timothy
Bradley has been
switched from
September 14 to
October 12 to avoid
a clash with Floyd
Mayweather-Saui
Alvarez. The Thomas
and Mack Center in
Las Uegas remains
the venue. Top
Rank's Bob Arum
always said he would
not go head-to-head
with "Money's" next
bout and he moved
quickly to keep his
word.

WIRRAL Community Police ABC
produced a 13-bout card at the
Whitby Sports & Social Club on
May 3 with local heroes Paul Butler
and Matty Pagan giving their vocal
support.
Best Boxer was schoolboy
George Martin, who kept control
of Louis Caerns, Rotunda, with
the aid of a stiff left jab. Junior
Ben McCuigan's better defence
saw him through an exciting bout
against Mason Cox, Market District.
Reece Coodhail lost on points
to Jay McKeown, Gemini, In a
sprightly contest. Morgan Handley
had to retire against Kirkdale's Tom
Bennet and Bradley Powell lost
an entertaining schoolboy bout to
Curtis Earle, Bryns.
