UK Anti-Doping confirmed on March
5 that Liverpool's John Donnelly,
28, has been suspended from all
competition for two years following
an anti-doping rule violation.
The super-flyweight tested positive
for benzoylecgonine, a metabolite
of cocaine, and was provisionally
suspended from all competition on
November 27 2012.
Donnelly was knocked out in the
first round by Paul Butler in a bid for
the vacant British title on November
11.

ONLY a fortnight before a scheduled European title
fight promoted by Frank Warren, George Groves,
the unbeaten former British champion,
withdrew from the show (which has
since been postponed) and revealed
he would join Matchroom, boxing a
10-rounder on their March 9 Wembley

Jenkinson gained a revenge win
over Sean Buckley, Queensberry,
with a unanimous victory.
