THE British boxing world buzzed last week
when WBA and IBF super-middleweight
champion Carl Froch and George Groves
came head-to-head on Sky Sports.
Froch left the studios feeling Groves
had been "childish" and that "he'd" made a
fool of himself" as he tried to goad "The
Cobra",
"I was quite easy and comfortable," said
Froch. "I was not going to argue or get
involved in any conflict.

on December 4 against 39-yearold
Bobby Gunn in a 12-round
cruiserweight bout, jones fought

controversial win over Pawel
GlazewskI on points.
jones, who recently stated he
would drop down to 170lbs to fight
Floyd Mayweather Jnr, Is hoping
beating Gunn will set up a fight
against UFC star Anderson Silva.
The former middleweight, supermiddleweight,

FITZROY LODGE ABC staged their
annual boxing evening for the Stock
Exchange at the Brewery in the City
of London on October 11.
Amongst the eight contests was a
five-bout competitive match against
a team from the Army's Royal
Engineers, which the host team won
three bouts to two.
Of the other contests, the best
was between The Lodge's Luca
Biggatti and Will McDermott (Dale
Youth). Biggatti started every round
strongly, going forward and taking
the fight to the Dale Youth boxer
but then faded and let his opponent
take the Initiative. The judges
awarded the contest to McDermott.
