DANNY GARCIA believes he Is
being underestimated ahead of his
showdown with Lucas Matthysse
on September 1 4 in Las Vegas. His
Argentine opponent has already
been mentioned as a future
foe for show headliner Floyd
Mayweather. But Garcia, who has
upset Erik Morales and Amir Khan
in recent outings, does not rate his
opponent highly.

ASHLEY THEOPHANE has told Boxing
A/ew/sthat British boxing fans never
saw the best of him because he couidn't
get motivated for any of his domestic
challengers. The 32-year-old from
Kilburn, London, announced on the social
networking site Twitter late last week
that he had signed a three-year deal with
Mayweather Promotions. His first contest
for the 'Money Team' will see him pitted
against former Shane Mosley foe Pablo
Cesar Cano at the MGM Grand in Las
Vegas on the September 14 undercard of
Mayweather-Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez,
"I expect a tough fight but I will win,"

MATCHROOM have announced the
undercard for Kell Brook's clash
with Vyacheslav Senchenko at
the Motorpoint Arena Sheffield on
October 25.
Presuming all goes to plan in
his October 5 debut, heavyweight
Anthony Joshua will box for
the second time and there will
be appearances for his Olympic
teammate and captain Thomas
Stalker, Blackpool lightmiddleweight
Brian Rose and Kal
Yafai is set to return.

THE European Schoolboy
championships concluded on August
3 in Dublin. Aaron McKenna and
Jordan Myers both won gold
medals for Ireland. Their 18-strong
squad finished with a further five
silver and three bronze medals.
Nathan Shaw, Craig Morgan
and Tyler Jolly all won bronze
medals for Scotland. We'll never
know how well England would have
done, the ABAE's suspension by
AIBA prevented them from entering.
Russia dominated with nine gold
medals.
