WBC light-heavyweight champion Chad
Dawson has admitted it was a mistal<e
calling out Andre Ward and fighting him at
super-middleweight.
Quality southpaw Dawson, who returns
to the ring on June 8 against big-hitting
Adonis Stevenson, hopes to get Ward back in
the ring, but at light-heavyweight where he
insists it would be a different fight.
"It's a big regret but I did
something not many would
do," said Dawson. "I went to
his bacl<yard [Oakland], got
down in weight and tried
to give the fans a show
but my body wouldn't
co-operate. He's a great
fighter and I would love that
rematch, but at 175lbs. I would never touch
super-middleweight again."
