TYSON FURY is being avoided by
his British rivals, says Hennessy
Sports matchmaker John Ingle.
Fury is out next week (April 11) in
London and Ingle wanted to match
him with someone above Lee
Swaby, the 3-0 Mancunian's last
victim, in the British ratings. Swaby
was our No. 16.
Ingle says the camps of Oave
Ferguson (211, Colin Kenna (15)
and Paul Butlin (14) have all turned
the fight down.
"No-one in Britain wants to fight
him," said Ingle. "But Tyson would
still fight them at a week's notice."

will televise live in the States.
Rojas, 25-6-1 (17), has gone
the distance with WBA full champ
Chris John in their March 2007
rematch. The pair had fought
a technical draw in 2004, which
had to be stopped after a head
clash.
In the co-feature at Primm,

Munroe's promoter Frank
Maloney this weeli made an offer
via email to new WBA champion
Bernard Dunne of £150,000. For
this, Dunne would be expected to
defend the belt against Munroe,
the reigning European champion,
in England. The offer is being
considered,
"Munroe is one of many
options," said a spokesman for
Dunne's manager and promoter
Brian Peters. "But there may be
better ones. We've spoken to Israel
Vazquez's people about when he
plans to resume his career."
CHRIS PYATT'S hammer-fisted hope
faces his toughest test in the Midlands
ABA light-heavyweight final.
Jahmaine Smyle, this season's
Novice Class A champion from the
Boxing Academy of Leicester, will meet
former ABA Novice finalist Liam Daly
(Kings Heath) at the Standard Triumph
in Coventry on Sunday (April 5).
Smyle made it 14 straight wins by
outpointing Jay Jones (Terry Allen)
after having his opponent on the floor
in the second with a right, while
Johnson, a quarter-finalist at 75 kgs two
seasons ago, looked a shade fortunate
to edge out Charles Delve from
Droitwich ABC after having his nose
bloodied in tEe opener.
Dell's clubmate Michael Pardoe
impressed the judges and a good-sized
crowd with his points win over Danny
Singleton (South Normanton School
of Boxing) at 69 kgs.
A chunky box-fighter conceding
several inches, Pardoe slipped and countered
effectively, and worked the body
well when he got on the front foot.
Jamie McGough, a national quarterfinalist
last season at 69 kgs, is out after
Kevin Hooper (Grimsby School of
Boxing) edged him on a majority after a
thriller, while Daryl Baptiste (Terry
Allen unique) progressed at
light-welterweight.
He took a count in the opening
session against Galium Speed
(Triumph) and went on to force
a third-round stoppage.
Simon Barclay, twice a Novice
ABA finalist, looked sharp in handing
the experienced Daniel Smith
(Donnington) a count on the way
to a points win at 86 kgs.
Arguably the best bout on paper had
an unsatisfactory ending when an eye
injury ruled out former National
Schoolboy champion Leigh Morris
(Terry Allen Unique) inside the opening
minute of his middleweight clash
