TYSON FURY'S camp have reacted
to Derek Chisora's letter in last
week's BN by making the Londoner
an offer they say he can't refuse.
Chisora, currently serving a fourmonth
ban for biting Paul Butlin's
ear in May, says he has turned
down an offer to take on the
unbeaten Fury, so the Manchester
giant's trainer and uncle Hughie
has made an improved offer.
Hughie said: "Tyson will give
Chisora his purse if Derek wins. If
Tyson wins, Chisora will still get
paid. We can't say fairer than that.
"We will also have a side bet with
his team if they are interested."
Fury returns to the ring at the
York Hall, Bethnal Green on July 18
after making a recovery from the
back injury that ruled him out of
boxing in Wigan last month.
There was talk of a match with
Coleman Barrett or Ian Tims for
the vacant Irish heavyweight title,
then Fury should challenge English
champion John McDermott before
the end of August and Hughie
hopes a match with Chisora could
follow in September.

UNDEFEATED pro super-middle and
former Commonwealth Games gold
medallist (2006) KENNY
ANDERSON, 26, has been charged
with attempting to murder a man
with a hammer.
Anderson, 10-0 (7), is alleged to
have struck David Togher with the
weapon in Hay Drive, Edinburgh on
June 23.
Another man. Dean Scott, is
charged with the same offence and
both men appeared, separately, in
court this week, making no plea.
It is alleged the pair repeatedly
punched and struck Mr Togher with
a hammer on the head, severely
injuring him, and attempted to
murder him.
Both were remanded in custody.
The case has been continued for
further examination.

ENGLAND'S women finished top
nation at the European Union
Championships in Pazardzhik, Bulgaria
from June 25-28.
All five boxers won a medal, with
gold for Natasha Jonas (64), Savannah
Marshall (69) and Sharon Holford
(51). Lucy O'Connor (57) and Hannah
Beharry (48) both earned bronze.
"It bodes well for September's full
Europeans in Ukraine," said team
manager Martin Webb (coaches were
Mick McAllister and Darren Maher,
referee/judge Ray Morley).
"I said all five were capable of
winning a medal and they did. They all
boxed very well."
Webb was particularly impressed
with Jonas, who had won silver at this
event the last two years.
"Natasha has come on in leaps and
bounds," said Webb. "Her three bouts
were all classy performances."
