RUSLAN CHAGAEV, former WBA
heavyweight champion, begins his
return following a ruptured Achilles
tendon injury against unbeaten Costa
Rican Carl Davis D r u m m o n d in
Rostock, Germany on February 7.
Southpaw Chagaev is also
undefeated - in 25 (one draw) - and
starts favourite at the Stadthalle.
Although Drummond is rated No. 9
by the WBA, the 33-year-old's best win
is on points over 10 against former
cruiserweight champ Kelvin Davis last
year.
Chagaev's goal is a rematch against
Nikolai Valuev, now WBA champion. It
was for a rematch against Valuev that
Chagaev injured his Achilles.
