Promotion narrowly outbid Skelton's
promoters Sports Network and plan to
stage the fight in early May.
Speaking through an interpreter,
Samil Sam said he watched Skelton's
January challenge to WBA champion
Ruslan Chagaev, when the "Bedford
Bear" lost on points.
"He is physically strong but not a
very good technical boxer," said the
Germany-based Turk. "The European
title will bring me close to a world title
shot and I want Chagaev."

who flew from Cuba, not as the one of

outscored in round three and England's
David Price 19-17 in the quarter-finals
before it was realised he is in fact a
Russian - a nation he won the 2003
European Junior Champs for.
All three boxers Arshba had
eliminated were brought back but rules
prevented anyone boxing more than
once in a day - so there was no time for
the trio to box off before the semi-finals
on Friday Feb 29.
The three names went into a hat and
out came Helenius, leaving Price
- who gave Arshba his hardest fight
- to take his chances at the final
qualifier in Athens.
Making it even more frustrating
for Price is the scoring of his loss
to Arshba. Three judges had the
Liverpudlian winning by 16 (Sweden),
13 and 10 points; Poland had it level
at 20-20; and China (one of four non-
European judges) had it 24-17 Arshba.
In other words. Price was up by a
total of 39 points against just seven
"winning" points for Arshba!
