SCOTT HARRISON walked out of
a Spanish jail this week looking hale
and hearty and ready to defend his
WBO featherweight title next month.
As we were going to print, Harrison
was back in Glasgow and starting the
first steps towards proving to the
Board he was fit to fight Nicky
Cook on December 9 in London.
If he doesn't fight, he will be
stripped.
Board boss Simon Block said on
Wednesday: "Scott must prove he is
fit to fight in EVERY WAY," which
'SCOTT MUST PROVE
HE IS FIT TO FIGHT
IN EVERY WAY'
obviously meant they would be
checking his mental state.
That is only right. Harrison has
serious things on his mind after
going off the rails this year.
He hasn't been freed but released
on bail. He still faces several charges,
including the assault of a police officer
in both Spain and Scotland.
Physically, though, as you can see
here, he looks great.
And he desperately wants the
fight next month, which would
be screened live on ITV.

BELFAST dynamo Damaen Kelly is
ready to step into the lion's den in Italy
next weekend (November 25) knowing
he has the beating of European bantam
champ Simone Maludrottu.

DELROY WAUL, a pro light-middle
out of Manchester between 1989
and 1995, is now a licensed
manager.
Waul, a useful box-puncher in his
day with a 19-5-2 113) record, has
signed a cruiserweight called CHINA
CLARKE {real name Phil).
But despite the fragility of
his fighter's ring name, Delroy is
struggling to find him opponents.
"He'll fight anywhere in Britain,"
said Waul, who operates out of
Brian Hughes' Collyhurst Gym.

THE hosts' flyweight starlet Mick
Hadfield notched a good win when
Headland staged an open show at
Hartlepool Borough hall on October 12.
Hadfleld, World Cadets runner-up
at 46 kgs a year ago, scaled 52 kgs as
he unanimously outpointed Anwar
Al-Fadil (Unity) over three-twos.
Said Headland coach Tim Coulter: "I
was busy running the show and didn't
realise until after two rounds about the
distance - 1 thought it was a 4 x 2s.
"At the end of the second I asked an
official at ringside and he said, 'It's a
three-rounder'.
