ENGLAND beat Ireland 8-3 in their
annual Schoolboys match held on a
dinner show at the Elizabeth Hotel in
Ipswich on November 24.
England team manager Martin
Webb takes us through the following:
"In the Born 1994 category at 34
kgs, a stiff left jab clinched a majority
4-1 win from the judges (scoring on
calculators) for Earlsfield's Perry
Lovejoy against Ireland's Alan
O'Connor, who was warned in
the second for holding.
"At 37 kgs game England battler Jez
Smith (Harrow) was a 3-2 winner over
much taller Daniel Fullerton.

MALMESBURY ABC staged a 13-bout
dinner show, exactly to programme,
before a packed hall of diners at
Chippenham Olympiad on November
11.
Said the club's Tony Stannard:
"Sam Main set the ball rolling for the
hosts with a unanimous win against
Walcot's Aaron Henderson.
"Debutant Harry Turner notched
the club's second win by outpointing
Roger O'Connor of Cleeve, who
showed guts but couldn't avoid the
straight jabs of our lad.
"Dan Williamson made it a hattrick
of wins by controlling his bout
against Devonport's Howard Hart.
Dan's better variety held the key and
ensured a unanimous win.
"Sam Jenner made it a clean sweep
for Malmesbury, but only after a
tremendous tussle with Cwmbran's
Welsh champion David Innes.
"This swung back and forth, with
Jenner being roared to a tight majority
decision that could have gone either
way."
In a senior lightweight four-twos
Walcot's former junior champion
Danny Bharj outpointed recent
Western Counties finalist Jaz
Jameson from Yeovil.

SHANE McGUIGAN'S impressive
form continued at the excellent Selsdon
Park Hotel.
This entertaining six-bout evening
was promoted by my club Hailsham
and Eastbourne with guest of honour
Hitman Ricky Hatton.
Shane (71 kgs, now four from four),
the 17-year-old son of former world
featherweight champion Barry, again
gave age and experience to a strong
London rival in Five Star's John Kelly
(70 kgs, won seven of 12 going in).
