IN SPITE of DAVID HAYE'S
undeniable talent, traditionalists
will probably scoff at the idea of
him endeavouring to become a
world champion training under a
coach of unproven pedigree and in
surroundings nearly as sanitary as
a hospital.
It is at the Third Space gym in the heart
of London's Piccadilly that you will find one
of Britain's finest prospects for world
honours.

D AVID DOLAN was England's
star performer at the annual
Feliks Stamm multi-nations
held in Warsaw, Poland from
April 9-12.
The heavyweight won three times to clinch
at least a silver medal before being withdrawn
injured from the final.
"David was fantastic," said team manager
Paul King. "He got worst of the draw and had
to box three days in a row, which is very rare
nowadays."
In the first series, the Plains Farm boxer won
18-8 over Stanislav Bartek, against whom he
had lost on a retirement at another tournament
in Bartek's home country, the Czech Republic,
just a month ago.

THERE were six wins from
11 bouts for the host gym
as Wolvercote ABC staged
their final dinner show of
the season before a full house at
the Exeter Hall In Kidlington.
Feather Marc Dibsdale provided the
black-vested boxers with a winning
start as he proved quicker to the punch
than Arnny rival Peter Walkman.
Dibsdale dominated the centre of the
ring throughout all four rounds, teeing
neat left hooks and right crosses off a
penetrating jab to thwart the countering
serviceman.
It proved an evening of contrasting
fortunes for the home club's battling
Mullins brothers.
Danny, the youngest of the trio,
proved too powerful for airman Robbie
Carroll and knocked him out midway
through the second.
