Harris collapsed a few days later when going into
a chemists.
The shop owners didn't summon help
immediately because they feared it was part of a
scam to hold up the shop.
Harris was taken to hospital and examined.
Fortunately, he had nothing more than
concussion.
Maurice, meanwhile, has protested to the IBF
about the way he was beaten. He claims he was
hit by a rabbit punch and therefore was beaten

A BEDFORD Select beat a Drimnagh (Dublin)
team 5-2 on a dinner show at The Moat House,
Bedford on February 24.
The event was generously sponsored by local businesses
and matchmaker Paul King said: "The standard of boxing was
excellent. We had some really good bouts."
The Irish team was coached by Tommy Davitt and it was a
return match after Bedford visited Ireland last May.
Craig Oliver (Kettering) unanimously outscored G. Clarke
over three-twos with a tidy performance at 42 kgs.
Oliver's clubmate Chris Kitson was unanimously edged by Joe
Dillon at 57 kgs.

• ENGLAND'S four-man team won two gold, one silver and a bronze at the YMCA
International Championships in New Delhi, India from February 3-9.
The golds went to Rotunda's STEPHEN SMITH at bantamweight and TONY JEFFRIES
(Sunderland/Boxing Academy) at middleweight.
JOHN O'DONNELL from Dale Youth earned silver at lightweight, while at light-welter (64
kgs) Finchley's GRANT SKEHILL took bronze.
