ESHAM PICKERING'S vacant European
super-bantamweight title clash with Italian
Vincenzo Gigliotti is tentatively set for Bradford on
January 16.
The date was originally reserved for a third
clash between Danny Williams and Michael Sprott,
but the heavyweights are now boxing on a bill to be
shown on Sky (see separate story).
Pickering, who already holds the British and
Commonwealth belts, will presumably fill the
vacant BBC TV slot against Gigliotti.

Froch D-day
WE should learn considerably more about classy
super-middle Carl Froch, the undefeated English
champ and former World amateur bronze
medallist, when he challenges British titleholder
Tony Dodson next year.

Revenge for Ryan?
RYAN RHODES may be in line for a rematch
early next year with Lee Blundell. the southpaw
who stopped him in three in March 2002.
