Hatton in August
•
SO long as Ricky Hatton doesn't injure
himself participating in Superstars on the
BBC this summer, he should be fit to box again in
Manchester in mid-to-late August.
Promoter Frank Warren is trying to match
Hatton, who was cut badly when outpointing Vince
Phillips in April, against Italian Gianluca Branco
should the WBC light-welterweight title became
vacant with champion Kostya Tszyu poised to
move up to welterweight.

Pryor marries
THIS year's Boxing Hall of Fame in
Canastota, New York will have an added
attraction. Former WBA and IBF light-welterweight
champion Aaron Pryor is to get married on the
grounds on June 5. I'm told the general public will
be welcome to attend the ceremony.

BRITISH middleweight title challenger
SCOTT DANN of Plymouth is planning to
bounce back from his April setback against
Howard Eastman in Nottingham.
Manager Chris Sanigar has struck a two-fight
agreement with promoter Barry Hearn for Dann to
box in hometown Plymouth - where he sells
bundles of tickets - on a Matchroom promotion
on July 26.
