THE Lennox Lewis-Oavid Tua dash on Novemt)er
11 Is, not surprisingly, heading to Las Vegas, where
all the money is.
Agreement was reached between both sides
more than a week ago, guaranteeing Tua $3.5m
plus a percentage of the pay-per-view profits, while
Lewis is expected to earn a minimum of $8m.
Kevin Ban^, Tua's manager, said the fight would
probably take place at the MGM-Grand, though Tua
will receive $250,000 more should the contest end
up in Toronto, Canada.

JAMES MURRAY, the Cleland bantam who tragically
lost his life in a British title battle with Drew
Docherty in October 1995, was mentroned in last
week's interview witt) Scott Dixon.
Dixon claimed MunBy lost his life orj the scales,
but Glasgow promoter Alex Monison says this is far
from the case. "James toved boxing and training. He
was well under the bantamweight limit," he saW.
Morrison points out that since MunBy's death it
has been discovered the family has a genetic fault.
"That's what killed James," said Monison.
James' brother has since had brain surgery (not
boxing related), while his unde died suddenly from
a brain haemorrhage.
"As far as I know James and Dixon weren't even
good friends. It shouW be pointed out also that Scotfs
new managers bought his contract from me. It was
not a question of him dedding against renewing it"

CARL THOMPSON, who has a European cruiserweight
title defence against Russian Alexei lliin
coming up In Bamsley on September 25, has
vacated the British championship.
The hard-hitting Mancunian had been ordered to
defend against John Keeton, but informed the
Board he was going to concentrate on European
and world honours. The Board will decide at their
next meeting, on September 13, who will face
Keeton for the vacant championship.
