wanted and believed in me.' Nelson said: *l found
Frank to be as straight as a die. He has changed

HOWARD CLARKE'S British lightmiddleweight
title challenge to Wayne
Alexander is off for a second time.
Alexander's injured knee still isn't
right, so their fight planned for the
Goresbrook Leisure Centre, Dagenham
on May 26 is put back again (the
show is still on).
Nobby Nobbs, the would-be challenger's
new manager, says: "We're
calling Howard stop-start Clarke!"
Clarke lost his job recently at
Leatherworld in Dudley, so needs
fights. He has five kids to feed.
LLOYD HONEYGHAN'S
show at the Elephant & Castle
Leisure Centre took another
pasting, several boxers pulling out
and Herbie Hide's exhibition cancelled,
reducing his card to only four
fights.
The former world welterweight
champion therefore had his fingers
cross^ the main event, for the vacant
Southern Area super-middleweight
title between Matthew Barney and
southpaw Jason Hart, would §o the
distance and be a humdinger.
