Hamed in the swing
NASEEM HAMED, fit-looking even with his next fight,
probably against Marco Antonio Ban-era (if the
Mexican wins tonight), four months away, had a
successful night on November 20 when guest of
honour at Cutler Hail, Sheffield.
Naz, who plays a lot of golf these days - and is
said to be very good - had old opponent Des
Gargano along as a special guest.
Others included former stablemates Paul "Silky"
Jones and Herol Graham. John McDonald, MC for
the night, tells me the auction raised a healthy sum
for charity. A pair of ringside seats for Naz's next
fight, probably in America, fetched £5,000.

Woods-Nunn back on
THE Clinton Woods-Michael Nunn WBC lightheavyweight
title final eliminator, postponed twice
already, has been set for January 20 at the Ponds
Forge Leisure Centre, Sheffield.
Middleweight Robert McCracken will appear in a
12-rounder on the undercard.

Rock Boston boost
JIM ROCK, a points winner over Dave Baptiste in
Belfast last month, is to top the bill at The Centrum,
Boston on December 8 against Tommy Attardo on
a show which will also feature American Olympic
heavyweight alternate TJ Wilson.
The bill is being promoted by Dublin's Brian
Peters in association vvith BoxAmerica.

ARUTHLESS, dominant display by
ANTHONY FARNELL established
him as a light-middleweight of
increasing maturity as SCOTT DIXON'S
career floundered at the Wythenshawe
Forum.
