MIDDLEWEIGHT prospect Jimmy Price of
Liverpool and Islington tops Greg Steen's show
at the Lyceum, Strand on Thursday with a
10-rounder against Spanish veteran Andoni
Amana.
MAX BAER and Primo Camera, with Jack Dempsey
playing referee, on the set of "The Prize Fighter
and the Lady" in 1933.
MARVIN HAGLER restored his Marvelous image with a
stunning, third round stoppage victory over MUSTAFA
HAMSHO at Madison Square Garden.
It was his 10th successful defence of the world middleweight
title, though not recognised by the World Boxing
Council because of Hagler's insistence on boxing over the
15 rounds distance. The WBC has stipulated that all title
fights under its jurisdiction be 12 rounds.
But 15 or 12 didn't matter, because once Hagler got
Hamsho going he never let him recover.
THE new Errol Christie, Pinewood Star's George Collins (left), came through his first senior
bout with flying colours as he halted outclassed Roger Thomas in just 64 seconds in their
main event bout in Sindlesham Masonic Centre on October 18.
It was multi-titled George's 71st straight victory.
