BRITISH flyweight champion Charlie Magri goes for his
sixth straight pro win in the joint main event at the Albert
Hall against the skilful Spaniard Manuel Carrasco, and
Charlie may have to settle for the first points victory of his
career.

UNBEATEN middleweight
Tony "Sibbo" Sibson gets
his first chance to appear on
a prestige London show
when he takes on Walworth's
Billy Knight in an
eight-rounder at the Albert
Hall.

GEORGE FEENEY, tough Hartlepool lightweight prospect, lost his unbeaten
record rather controversially to London-Irishman Tommy Davitt in an exciting
nobbins eight-rounder at the Anglo-American Sporting Club.
Referee Mike Jacob's score of 78-77, giving the fight to Davitt by a round, did
not find universal agreement.

JOEY SINGLETON scored his third straight comeback win
by halting brave George McGurk (Jarrow) in the eighth
and last round at the Cunard International Holel.
McGurk (10-1%) never stopped coming forward, but
absorbed constant punishment from both hands. Finally, in
the eighth, he crumbled.
A left hand put McGurk on the floor — a blow which did
not look too devastating in itself, but was enough for a
weary McGurk who had been battling against the odds for
seven rounds.

HAMILTON, BERMUDA: Liverpool-born Gary Hope, son
of former ABA champion Frank, is Bermuda's new boxing
hero. Only 20, light-heavyweight Gary has won 17 out of 18
contests since he went to Bermuda to work as a hairdresser
last summer.
