round to snatch a deserved draw with Derry's Neil
McLaughlin (8-OH) in the eight-rounds main event at
Manor Place Baths.

JOEY McINTOSH, former England amateur international
welterweight now boxing professionally as Joey Mack,
looked unlucky to drop a points decision to local southpaw
Gerry Young, referee Billy Duncan scoring the bout 79-78
in Young's favour after eight extremely interesting rounds.
The verdict for Young, a 23-year-old former Irish amateur
international met with jeers from the sporting crowd at the Ulster
HalL

UNBEATEN middleweight puncher Eddie Burke, Woodside
(11-10) scored his sixth straight professional win, the
fifth inside distance, when he stopped Birmingham's
former Midlands Area light-heavyweight champion Steve
Walker in the fourth of their scheduled eight rounds main
event at the National Sporting Club, writes TIM MO.

SCOTTISH light-welter
champion Jim Douglas
looked impressive when he
outboxed and outpunched
North-East welter kingpin
Norman Houston (Aberdeen)
on the Camperdown
Sporting Club's promotion
in the Leisure Centre,
Dundee.
