DESPITE being traditionally the weakest, boxingwise,
of the three fighting services, the Royal Navy
has still managed to produce some of the most
talented and colourful performers, both amateur and
professional, in British boxing history.

SYLVESTER MITTEE, last year's ABA lightweight
champion and Montreal Olympics representative, is to turn
professional with manager Terry Lawless.

CHARLIE NASH, who hoped to be challenging Jim Watt
for the British lightweight title in Derry this week, now
meets American Larry Stanton at the city's Templemore
Sports Complex next Tuesday.
