fight business a tremendous boost as he hammered
Joey Singleton to defeat in six bloody rounds at the
Royal Albert Hall to win the British light-welterweight
title.

MAURICE HOPE, British light-middleweight champion
from Hackney, had Birkenhead's Tim Mc Hugh
down in the opening seconds of their Albert Hall eight
rounder but had to travel three more rounds before
halting a game and elusive opponent, writes TIM MO.

HARD MAN Neville Meade, from Swansea, fought
tenaciously when he shrugged off an early cut eye
handicap and sensationally battered Birmingham's
Garfield McEwan to defeat in the ninth of their scheduled
10 rounds topliner on Ron Gray's promotion at the
Wolverhampton Civic Hall.

attended the Junior ABA finals at the Bloomsbury
Centre you might have had mixed reactions to the
evening's entertainment.

announced the Great Britain team to face the USA at
the Empire Pool, Wembley, on June 16, but delayed
