THE ill-luck which has marred Robert Dickie's career
continued to hound him as he lost his World Boxing Council
International super-featherweight title at the King's Hall.
Dickie's five-month reign ended after two minutes 33
seconds of the sixth round against the rough, clever
Tunisian, Kamel Bou-Ali, because of an appalling cut over
the left eye.

was recently reported that Lazlo Papp has founded a Hungarian Professional Boxing Board

Russia, but the real thrill would be the return to professional boxing by Cuba.
IT'S BEEN a frustrating past season for Warrington lightheavyweight
Blaine Logsdon. Only 16 months ago he travelled
to Mestre in Italy to meet former IBF champion Slobodan
Kacar.
The Yugoslav ex-Olympic champion, winner of 21 of his 22
contests, was looking to work his way back into title
contention.
ATLANTIC CITY — September 3: Former Olympic gold
medallist Meldrick Taylor came of age as a professional as
he outclassed and finally hammered a sluggish James
"Buddy" McGirt into defeat in the 12th and final round to
capture the IBF light-welterweight title at Harrah's Marina
casino hotel.
FORMER British welterweight champion Kostas
Petrou continues his comback when he
meets talented Manchester banger Ensley Bingham
on Jack Trickett's promotion at Oldham
on October 18.
