WORLD title contender Herol Graham goes for the
hat-trick tomorrow (Saturday), a triple, that is,
against the conquerors of Errol Christie when he
takes on American Charlie Boston in a 10-rounder at
the King's Hall, Belfast, for his manager and
promoter Barney Eastwood, writes TIM MO.
Graham seems to have made a point of taking on
men who have stopped Christie — the lightheavyweight
Jose Seys, followed by Mark Kaylor and
now Boston.
THERE seems no love lost between MARVIN HAGLER and SUGAR RAY LEONARD
as the countdown begins to their big fight at Las Vegas on April 6. And whether you like
the fight or not (and many BN readers seem opposed) there figures to be an explosion of
pride and passion in the ring outdoors at Caesars Palace.
Hagler already seems to be stoking up the old "destruct and destroy" fires and I
suspect it isn't hype.
TYRELL BIGGS is unhappy with negative media reaction.
The former Olympic champion thought he should have had
more credit for his unanimous decision win over seasoned
Renaldo Snipes on the same show as Bonecrusher-
Witherspoon.
Everything he does. Biggs says, gets criticised.
He dropped Snipes in the third but says he didn't go in to
try to finish the job in the fourth because of corner advice.
Next time he gets an opponent hurt, he says, he'll go in and
take him out.
