AFRICAN - BORN Londoner Tee Jay scored one of the
quickest wins in British championship history when he
stopped Nottingham's Roy Smith in just 90 seconds to win
the cruiserweight title at the Latchmere Leisure Centre.
It was the quickest win in a British title fight since
November 20, 1961, when Dave Charnley knocked out
Darkie Hughes in 40 seconds in Nottingham to retain his
lightweight crown.

LARKHILL lightweight propect Alex Dickson took his winning run
to 13 with a one-sided points win over late substitute Fernando
Blanco of Belgian in the 10-round main event at the 3,000 seat Forum
Arena, writes J O HN MORRISON.
Dickson had originally been scheduled to challenge Tony Willis for
the British lightweight title on this Mike Barrett show, but the
voluntary defence was shelved when Willis contracted a virus
complaint.

explored his road to a world title, I found that he was
another of those who saw his success as destiny, but few
fighters can have spent so much energy trying to deny or
avoid their fate.

UNBEATEN flyweight prospect Pat Clinton takes on his
biggest name opponent yet when he meets former double
world champion Freddie Castillo from Mexico in the 10
round main event at the Tryst Centre, Cumbernauld, on
