HAVING read my piece last week about how the Sky
panel didn't share my enthusiasm for Floyd
Mayweather Jnr, Duke McKenzie phoned to remind
us he said on the programme the American was the
best fighter, pound for pound, in the world.
I recall Duke's statement (before the fight had
started) - high praise indeed - but my comments
were more about the panel's reflections on Floyd's
often-masterful performance against Jesus Cha

ROBERTO DURAN is making slow progress at a hotel in Buenos Aires following the
car accident last month which saw him break eight ribs and puncture a lung.
The Panamanian great, 50, is lucky to be alive. One of the passengers in the car
remains in a coma. Duran's son, Roberto Jnr, survived.
In an article in the Buenos Aires Herald, Duran said he was still in pain.
It has been a strange period for him. He said he lost his passport when about to fly to
Argentina, the landing in Buenos Aires was shaky, and added he was supposed to be in
New York on September 11.
"I usually hang around the Trade Center when I'm there," he said. "I have friends there.
But I'm not afraid of death. I've seen lots of things in my life."
Duran is not well enough to travel home and living in a hotel is costing him money.
Roberto has not made a decision about whether to box again.
This accident may finally convince him to call it a day. He appears more focused on his
salsa band and talked of opening a restaurant in Panama.
