IF THIS defence of his European middleweight title was
one of Tony Sibson's off-nights, as he claimed afterwards,
then Spanish challenger Andoni Amana must be wondering
what he would have to do to beat him when he was on form.

BOXING ratings are are pretty serious business, but its
difficult to believe that if you read the WBA ratings. Not
being on their mailing list, the last copy I saw was the March
ratings which included some real howlers.
For instance Norberto Sabater is rated No. 7 lightheavyweight.
The WBA explain this by saying Sabater was
rated there in error as he is a middleweight, but since he
could not find a spot in the middleweights they rated him in
the light-heavyweights.

EDDIE MUSTAFA MUHAMMAD, WBA lightheavyweight
champion, flopped in his attempt to invade the
heavyweight division when he was outpointed by unbeaten
New Yorker Renaldo Snipes over 10 dull rounds in a
televised bout at Bally's Park Place Casino Hotel.

SCOTS Henry Cooper and Jim McKeown face tough tasks in
Milan tonight (Friday). Middleweight Cooper, making his
first appearance after a lengthy ring absence, meets highly
regarded Walter Cevoli.
Cevoli has been outpointed by Bonny McKenzie, but it's
his only loss. He may hit too hard for Cooper. McKeown,
from Barrhead, meets Salvatore Melluzo. Jim has shown
good form in recent outings and has the ability to cause an
upset. But he's not a big hitter and the chances of getting the
verdict in the other man's backyard look slim.
