excitement that has become part and parcel of
the domestic heavyweight saga now looks set to
infiltrate more select international ranks.
With balding Neville Meade bearing the
weight of Britain's European title hopes on his
broad shoulders fireworks, if not glory, seem

CLINTON McKENZIE finally swung things his way when
he turned in a skilled and stubborn performance to win the
European light-welterweight title by a decisive, unanimous
scoreline from holder Antonio Guinaldo of Spain.

Mills over eight compelling (three minute) rounds at the
Midlands Sporting Club.

treasurer John Whitehead in a hard-hitting report. "But we must endeavour this

CAMERON LITHGOW preferred to Errol Christie, triple
ABA light-heavyweight champion Andrew Straughn up to
heavyweight and British Olympic captain George Gilbody

United States at Gloucester on November 18.
Christie (Triumph) outpointed Lithgow in this year's
ABA light-middleweight final and is on a winning run of 43
bouts. His last defeat was four years ago.
