LARRY HOLMES, his $10 million purse with Gerry Cooney
hanging in the balance, picked himself off the floor to
hammer previously unbeaten Renaldo "Mister" Snipes
into defeat in the 11th round at the Civic Arena to make his
11th successful defence of the WBC heavyweight tide.
Referee Rudy Ortega of California stopped the fight after
one min 5 sees of the 11th, with Snipes pinned in a corner
and taking rights to the head.
