EUROPEAN middleweight champion
Tony Sibson has the biggest
fight of his career when he defends his
title against former undisputed world
titleholder Alan Minter at Wembley.
THE comeback hopes of James Scott suffered a severe
setback as the 33-year-old convict light-heavyweight lost
a unanimous 10 round decision to Dwight Braxton in a
nationally televised bout held in the prison gym.
RICHIE GIACHETTI, recently sacked by Larry Holmes
as his trainer/manager, claims that there is a contract out on
his life. Giachetti recently appeared before a federal grand
jury that has been investigating boxing, and spent a great
deal of the time pleading the Fifth Amendment, but was
forced to hand over to the jury tapes of three of his telephone
conversations with Don King.
THREE time ABA champion Terry Marsh
has signed pro forms with London manager
Kieron Murphy.
Legal details were completed on Tuesday and
the former Navy star will make his debut next
month at the Bloomsbury Centre. The show is
staged by the newly-formed Pirate Promotions
group, of which Murphy and Frank Warren are
co-founders.
A delighted Marsh said: "I always took time
to warm-up as an amateur, and I think the
longer distance will suit me.
