ELVIN AYALA is being mooted as
the opponent for JOHN DUDDY at
the Beacon Theater in Manhattan,
New York on May 18.
If he comes through unscathed,
Duddy will have his first pro fight in
Ireland - at the National Stadium
in Dublin on July 7.
Duddy will actually relocate
to his native country until the
beginning of 2008. His management
have their eyes on him becoming
European champion by the autumn.

STEFY BULL vomited immediately
after his bout with Amir Khan was
stopped and spent the night in
Cardiff University Hospital being
treated for dehydration.
Apparently he struggled to make
the weight and said he never felt
right in the fight, which may explain
his poor punch output. He is feeling
a lot better.
He is disappointed he couldn't
have put up a better effort but, in
spite of it all, is pleased to have
done it and been part of the whole
show. He particularly enjoyed being
interviewed by Emanuel Steward for
HBO TV.

DARREN BARKER sparred last
week for the first time since his
brother's death and will return on
the May 18 ExCel Arena, London
Docklands bill that includes LENNY
DAWS against Canadians CHAD
BRISSON or ANTONIN DECARIE for
the vacant Commonwealth l0st title.

FORMER world heavyweight champ
Tim Witherspoon is launching a
comeback at the age of 49 - and
reckons more of boxing's golden
oldies should get back in the ring.
Witherspoon is hoping to join
a division that includes 44-year-old
Evander Holyfield and veterans James
Toney, Michael Moorer and Tommy
Morrison. He insists the current crop
of heavyweights lack the know-how
of their predecessors.

BRADLEY PRYCE, Commonwealth
light-middleweight king (below), has
been withdrawn as official challenger
to British title-holder Jamie Moore.
At lightweight, British champ Jon
Thaxton has to defend against Willie
Limond, while featherweight king
John Simpson must face former
title-holder Andy Morris in a
rubber match.
