BRITISH boxing, not in exactly the healthiest of conditions,
took another blow with the pacifist display of
American heavyweight Leroy Caldwell against Joe Bugner
at the Albert Hall.

JOHN H. STRACEY, Bethnal Green (10-7),
lost his unbeaten record when he was adjudged
to have been outpointed over eight
rounds by Marshall Butler, Montreal (10-
7i), in the best bout of the night.

Eastern Counties' two top
stars, Johnny Waldron and
Peter Turrell, were both on
their very best form, desj-ite
their r^ccnt defeats in the
London A.B.A., title hunt.

ENGLAND international welter, Kenny Webber of Collyhurst,
scored an easy win in what was his last amateur
contest, when he clearly outpointed Keith Nugent of Stoke,
on his club show at St Edmund's Club, Manchester.
