FRANK WARREN'S matchmaker Dean
Powell has said IBF lightweight champion
Miguel Vazquez will be coming to
England to fight Ricky Burns at Wembley
Arena on March 16, despite Vazquez
saying this week they would need to
increase their offer for him to fight.
Powell sent a picture of Vazquez and
his trainer, Javier Capetillo, signing the
contract for the fight (inset) and said
he had been in touch with Vazquez's
promoter, Juan Carlos Torres, this week as
the Mexican team wanted to change their
travel arrangements so they would be in
the UK 10 days before the fight rather
than seven.

FLOYD MAYWEATHER
has announced a
"ground breaking"
pay-per-view deal
witli Sliowtlme and
its parent company

Their revenue
sharing arrangement
would allow
Mayweather to
box up to six times
in 30 months,
starting with a May
4 clash with Robert
Guerrero.
Financial details
have not been
released but it's
believed to be a
record-breaking deal.
His father, Floyd
Mayweather Snr

the fight at the
MCM Grand in las
Vegas. It is not clear
if Uncle Roger will
also be involved due
to medical issues
including diabetes.

JAMES DEGALE
will face Argentine
Pablo Oscar Farias
on March 23 at
Glow nightclub at
Bluewater. The
WBC 'silver' supermiddleweight
champion is planning
to get himself into
the WBC mandatory
challenger's position
to meet Andre Ward
in 2014. Farias is
24-2 (16) and lost to
Arthur Abraham last
year in five rounds.
DeGale's promoter
Mick Hennessy said
he had offered Adam
Booth the chance
to match old rivals
DeGale and George
Groves at Queens
Park Rangers'
ground loftus Road
in the summer, but
was told by Booth
that the foes would
clash for a world title
in 18 months'time.

THE national Schools championships
quarter-final between the London/
Western Counties and Southern
Counties Schools took place over
two days at the TA Centre in Grove
Park, South London.
Launceston southpaw Ryan Hoar
took on Southern Counties champion
Charlie Cousins, Small Holdings.
There was little between them in
the first round and they exchanged
in round two until a straight left put
Cousins on the canvas. The same
punch caught him again and the
referee called a halt, putting the
Cornish boxer into the semi-final.
There was an upset at Class
2 35 kgs when Small Holdings'

Lisa Whiteside, who has won World
bronze and European silver medals for
England, takes the stage against Linnea
StrandelL Budding international Talia
Anthony goes in with Sweden's Elin
Ronnlund.
Two-weight ABA champion, first at
cruiser and last year at heavyweight,
Simon Barclay, is one to watch. He
takes on Sweden's Gabriel Richards.

England against Hampus Henriksson and
Clearence Goyram respectively.
