MANY FANS will be wondering just why manager George
Francis has decided to let British and Commonwealth
middleweight champion Bunny Sterling go to Copenhagen
next Thursday to tackle great Dane Tom Bogs, exchampion
of Europe at middle and cruiserweight. Sterling
is next on the list for a crack at the new European titleholder
Jean-Claude Bouttier, and if he should lose to
Bogs it would undoubtedly jeopardise his chances of
both a European and possible world title shot.

ALTHOUGH NOT a 6ft 6in giant, able to knock a man
out with one punch, John McCluskey, our British flyweight
champ, must surely have a record that is good enough for
any man to be proud of. After only eight paid fights John
won the British title, and since then he has been to
Melbourne and annexed the Empire title.

RUBEN OLIVARES is once again the King of the Bantamweights, and judging by the
form he displayed in regaining his title from Jesus Castillo, he is .still head and
shoulders above any other man at his weight in the world. Still only 24, this brash,
boastful youngster is Mexico's answer to Cassius Clay. Before each fight he can be
found holding court in his dressing ioom, flashing smiles through a mouthful of goldcapped
teeth and pouring forth a stream of predictions on the outcome of his contests.
The fans either love him or they hate him, but they come along to watch him just
the same to see if he can make good his boasts.
