BRITISH light-middle king JAMIE
MOORE had hoped to make his
American debut tomorrow week
(Saturday January 20).
He would have jumped at the
chance of fighting former IBF title
challenger JC CANDELO on Art
Pelullo's show in Connecticut,
but it was between him and TEDDY
REID.
Reid got it.
Moore (pictured) had
trained as if it was
happening. Flights

At 27 Jamie 'W^^X'
felt he was ready
and was obviously

RICKY HATTON has been given the
OK to return to action.
It was felt the Hitman would be out
for six months after suffering nasty
cuts in his victory over Carlos Maussa
in November (see above). But apparently
Hatton's decision to have surgery within
two hours of the fight has reduced
his recovery time.

his court battle with Frank Warren -
won't probably be until April or May
anyway and will almost certainly be in
America, with Golden Boy Promotions
favourites to stage it.

THE German Federation has handed
Cuban heavyweight JUAN CARLOS
GOMEZ a one-year suspension for
testing posKive for cocaine after
beating Oliver McCall in October
15. The suspension is in effect
from December 16 (the day the
B-test came back positive).
Gomez insists he hasn't been
told officially. He said: "It's very
odd, because I've spoken with my
promoter Klaus-Peter Kohl and no
mention was made of it."
Gomez is now living in Santa
Monica, California and waiting for
immigration issues to be resohred
before returning to Germany.
