DON KING has filed a $70m
counter-lawsuit against
Terry Norris, the WBC light-middleweight
champion, in an
attempt to prevent the fighter
signing with another promoter.
Norris issued a lawsuit of
$64.5m against the promoter in
May to try and break his contract.
Orlin Norris, Terry's older brother,
settled a lawsuit with King on
June 20 and is in line to challenge
WBA heavyweight champion
Evander Holyfield.

SOUTH AFRICAN Leiiiohonoio
Ledwaba has vacated his
WBU bantamweight title to campaign
at a higher weight.
Talks with WBA super-bantamweight
champion Antonio
Cermeno proved fruitless, but the
South African's promoter Mike
Segal says the alternatives include
Irishman Wayne McCullough or
WBU champion Cassius Baloyi,
also from South Africa.

BRITISH super-bantamweight
champion Michael Brodie is
preparing to defend against
mandatory challenger Wilson
Docherty, but the lucrative match
is against European king Spencer
Oliver.
"I think I'll beat him," says
Brodie. "Spencer's a good fighter,
but 1 will be too strong. 1 was
impressed with his European title
victory. He proved he was the better
man, but 1 don't think Martin
Krastev was that good."
The two champions are on collision
course and, as trainer Billy
Graham points out: "It's a massive
fight down the line. I hope Oliver
keeps winning and holds on to his
European title, because Michael is
coming on a ton. He is moving better
and everything is improving."
