HE November 9 pay-per-view show from Chester, West Virginia featuring
PAUL SPADAFORA'S IBF lightweight title defence against DENNIS HOLBAEK
PEDERSEN of Denmark suffered a few blows over the weekend.
Angel Manfredy, who was to have boxed Victor Sosa, had to withdraw when cut
sparring Nate Campbell.
And Juan Golo Gomez-Trinidad, down to face former WBA lightweight king Raul Balbi,
became another casualty when tearing a tendon in his left hand.
Gomez-Trinidad was replaced by former Wayne Rigby points victim Antonio Ramirez,
while Sosa now goes in with Lamar Murphy in an IBF lightweight title eliminator. Another
10-rounder features US Olympian Jermain Taylor against Johnny Rivera.

PAUL KNIGHTS came through a test weigh-in on Monday afternoon (October 28),
according to Board of Control Secretary Simon Block.
The Redhill boxer gets the chance after other challengers did not take it up: Commonwealth
champion James Hare turned it down, Harry Dhami (already beaten by Sinclair) had only just
got back in the gym, while Chris Saunders and Jimmy Vincent meet in an official eliminator in
December. Block also revealed Southern Area champion David Walker and Oscar Hall were
being considered for a mandatory shot.

WHAT has Junior Witter done to the Gods of Boxing, or
more accurately the Sky Sports Ringside team?
Despite being the one domestic fighter many think would
beat the most hyped fighter in Britain - Ricky Hatton - he
hardly gets a mention on the programme.
When he wins the British crown with a world-class display it
isn't even reported on Ceefax, let alone televised.
A British title fight with one of the hottest prospects in the
country and Sky don't show it.
Now I find out he was on the recent Scott Harrison-Julio Pablo
Chacon card and the Sky team don't mention or show Junior's
fight. Can you imagine them treating Hatton like that?
Not Ian Darke, who lets Hatton use his commentary to enter
the ring.
Hatton's team are running scared of Witter and everyone in
boxing knows it.
